Paul graduated from Sam Houston State University with a BS degree and from there was commissioned into the US Army as a second lieutenant in Military Intelligence.   After training he volunteered for Vietnam and served in Project Phoenix, 5th Special Forces Group Airborne. In his third Vietnam tour of duty

he was with the Joint Casualty Resolution Center in Thailand and in 1974-1975 served as the MIA Recovery Officer in Military Region IV in the Republic of Vietnam.   He served there until the country fell to the North Vietnamese in April of 1975. He then returned to the United States and served as a Special Forces Officer, Instructor, A-Team Leader, and a Special Forces Company Commander.   He describes this time in his career as a nonstop adventure. During this time he also achieved his Master’s Degree at the University of Kentucky in Public Service.

Paul also serviced as S-2 for Operations with the 10151 Airborne Division Air Assault; Company Commander for the 10141 Combat Intelligence Company; Intelligence Center Watch Officer for the Commander and Chief of the Pacific

Command Center; G-3 Plans Officer for I-Corp Pacific wide Training Operations in Korea, Japan and The Philippines; Headquarters Commandant for General H. Norman Schwarzkopf at Fort Lewis, Washington; and I-Corp liaison Officer to Eight Army and US Army Forces Korea. His service was worldwide and ended in 1993 after a 26-year career.

Paul is married to his wife Charlotte with two children, Laura and Paul Jr. and two loving granddaughters, Kaeley and Hannah.
